Tomorrow is Christmas. I had planned on writing a sassy, sarcastic post about what I really want. You know, the usual: a faster metabolism, a vacation home on a private island, world peace, something in my stocking that I didn’t buy myself …
I even had a few fun meme for that last one.

But then something happened.
A family friend was diagnosed with cancer. Then, I read a FB post from an old gym friend about her year-long journey through chemotherapy.
Talk about perspective.
I’ll admit, I often take my health for granted. I joke about aches and pains. Bitch about autoimmune flare ups. Complain about missing the gym for weeks due to flu complications. (If you read last week’s post, you know.)
But the reality is, I’m lucky. Very lucky.
Sure, my old lady pill box filled with medications and supplements may say otherwise. But none of my illnesses are terminal. Difficult at times and annoying AF all the time, but not deadly.
For that, I am grateful.
So I’m stepping back from my original wish list. Who needs a tropical vacation home anyway? All I want for Christmas is good health for my loved ones.
Oh, and heat. My furnace conked out on Monday and it’s cold out! (Thankfully, a new furnace is being installed on Friday—Merry Christmas to me!)
Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you get everything you want
