Surviving Menopause

Posted on November 2, 2026November 2, 2026 By lauren@laurendeweytarr.com

QUESTION: If little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice (according to the nursery rhyme), then what are perimenopausal women made of?

ANSWER: Hot flashes and sweat and a mood you won’t forget.

Surviving Menopause

Women are rock stars. Women in midlife are badass.

We’ve survived a lifetime of periods, pregnancies, and now perimenopause and menopause (and don’t get me started on the sexism, misogyny, mansplaining, and patriarchy).

We hold down jobs and run households. We raise kids and care for aging parents. We do it all while managing hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, mood swings, dry skin, even drier vaginas, chin hairs, acne, and heart palpitations.

And the crazy thing is, we do it every day. Without help …

Men could never!

But I think I found something that might just give us back our sanity … Or at least remind us it’s not all in our heads.

I recently partnered with Luna Shift (@luna.shiftapp), a new app for women in perimenopause and menopause to help track symptoms. Even though I’m a 14-year menopause veteran, I’m still finding it useful. You perimeno ladies will love it!

It’s quick and easy to use. You don’t even need to set up an account. Just mark how you feel each day, track your flow, set reminders for HRT doses, and log other meds or supplements. Then you can look back over the weeks through plain-language weekly summaries and simple charts.

You can even choose to share a summary report with your doctor. After all, it’s hard to gaslight someone who comes prepared with a written report in hand. #beyourownadvocate

The best part? It’s totally private—unlike the bathroom you need to share with your slovenly husband. There’s no AI, no account, and the data stays on your phone, backed up only to your own iCloud.

Perimenopause is hard, and it feels like it lasts forever. I know, I’ve been there. But Luna Shift makes it easier to track symptoms and remember who the f*ck you are … A badass who will soon be on the other side, free of PMS, tampons, and pregnancy scares.

Just try not to kill anyone on your way.
